Step One
Create a beautiful, nurturing environment, preferably a place where you can be alone for at least 30 mins. Fetch a blanket, a journal and pen, some tissues and your favourite oils. Pop on some soothing music and light a candle – give yourself permission to settle into this quiet space.
Step Two
Take some time to connect with your body, mind and soul by slowing your breathing down and taking deep, long equal breaths in and out. This will bring your heart into a coherent state and send a message to your nervous system that all is well.
Step Three
Using your journal, explore the question, ‘What do I need to forgive myself for?’ Allow yourself time to release and forgive any guilt, fear and even shame you have been holding onto for far too long. Release and let go.
Step Four
Again using your journal, write a love letter to yourself, pouring out all the love you want to have for your body, your mind, your soul. Finish this letter with a commitment to loving yourself more and more each day.
Step Five
Finish the ritual with a meditation focusing on your heart centre – that beautiful energy centre which has the capacity for unlimited love, kindness, compassion and grace. Allow your heart to fill and expand, bringing in universal love for yourself.
